Robert Wiedemer co-wrote the landmark book that predicted the current downturn in the economy in 2006, America’s Bubble Economy, published by John Wiley. As Paul Farrell, Senior Investment Columnist at Dow Jones MarketWatch recently said, “In short, America’s Bubble Economy’s prediction, though ignored, was accurate.” Kiplinger’s chose it as one of the best business books of 2006.

Mr. Wiedemer’s books, including Aftershock, which was chosen in 2009 by Smart Money magazine as one of the five best investment books of the year, have sold more than 1 million copies. Aftershock and America’s Bubble Economy have been the subject of articles in the major press including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, The New York Hedge Fund Journal, Euromoney, Reuters, AP, and others.

In 2009, Aftershock Second Edition became a New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestseller.  Winning widespread international acclaim, the book also became a bestseller in Korea and was translated into both Chinese and Japanese.  The audio version of the book was one of 5 business audio books nominated for an Audie Award.

In 2012, The Aftershock Investor, became a Wall Street Journal Bestseller, followed by The Aftershock Investor Second Edition in 2013, Aftershock Third Edition in 2014, and Aftershock Fourth Edition in 2015. 

Robert Wiedemer’s most recent book, Fake Money, Real Danger, published in 2022, discusses how the government’s massive money printing and enormous borrowing before and during and after the Covid Crisis has fundamentally boosted all asset markets.  He explains the key signs investors should look for to determine when the government can no longer continue this massive economic and financial stimulus. 

An engaging speaker, Mr. Wiedemer has enlightened investors, financial analysts, and economists, including family office associations across the US, the New York Hedge Fund Roundtable, SIFMA, CFA Societies (Chicago and San Francisco), the World Bank, and the National Press Club, of which he is a member. He has also been a frequent commentator on CNBC and Fox Business News. 

Mr. Wiedemer holds a Series 65 (Registered Investment Advisor) and a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. School of Business.

Cindy Spitzer

Cindy Spitzer was the coauthor of America’s Bubble Economy (Wiley, 2006), The Aftershock Investor (Wiley, 2012) and several editions of Aftershock (Wiley, 2009-2015). Ms. Spitzer is a Senior Investment Advisor at Bull Bear Investment Management, where she helped create the Bull Bear Trading Strategy and plays a key role in investment management and client development.

Cindy Spitzer also provides one-time and ongoing private consulting and investment insights to individuals, businesses and groups based on the macroeconomic ideas in Aftershock. David Wiedemer, PhD

Chief Economist

Dr. David Wiedemer was the co-author of America’s Bubble Economy, the landmark book published in 2006 that accurately predicted the Great Recession and the popping of the housing, private credit, stock and consumer spending bubbles. His series of predictions were contrary to most major economists and government officials. His analysis provided the macroeconomic basis for the economic evaluation and predictions contained in the book.

Mr. Wiedemer also co-wrote the New York Times bestseller Aftershock, now in its fourth edition, and Wall Street Journal bestseller Aftershock Investor as well as Fake Money, Real Danger.  He again provided the economic analysis underlying their financial and economic predictions. As Bull Bear Investment Management’s Chief Economist he provides the macroeconomic viewpoint that drives the firm’s macroeconomic investment decisions.

Mr. Wiedemer holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
